EnjoyingPhones for ASMR? What the heck is ASMR?!
What is ASMR?
ASMR stands for auto sensory meridian response. It's the tingly sensation you get in around your head. Sometimes it's described as chills, goosebumps, or most commonly, tingles! It's very pleasant and relaxing and that's why so many people love it.
So how does ASMR work?
The science on it is still unclear, but the term is believed to have been coined in 2010 by Jennifer Allen, who soon after started a Facebook group dedicated to finding out more about it.
Is ASMR a meme?
ASMR is often meme'd and seen as weird. This is because people like to fit in and most people find people whispering to themselves and uploading it to the internet as... weird. But, I'm sure you've felt the "tingle" sensation, let's just say don't knock it before you try it.
What are some good ASMR videos?
It really depends on the person, think of something relaxing, more specifically the noises, so a massage wouldn't really apply here. For example, maybe a haircut or a cranial nerve exam?
Where can I find ASMR?
ASMR can be found everywhere! But the most popular media to view it on is Youtube.
Why would I watch ASMR?
Many people watch it for many different reasons:
- Chill out
- Use it as a sleep aid
- A replacement for music
- To get tingles
- To take your mind off things
- To bond with the person doing the ASMR like a best friend
- Deal with stress
- Deal with anxiety
- Even deal with depression
What is the future of ASMR?
ASMR is always evolving, it's not certain what is the future of ASMR. One thing is for certain though, it will keep growing as more people realize how nice it can really be.
EnjoyingPhones are made for ASMR?
It's true. The problem with ASMR is most people use it to relax before they go to bed. The problem is they either have to deal with earbuds digging into their ear or take them off half-asleep during the middle of the night. It's super frusturating but it's the price to pay for the pleasure of ASMR, or so you thought. EnjoyingPhones make it so that you can listen to ASMR without all these issues.
